Adventure awaits in new books, around our neighborhoods, in conversation with new friends, and in the sights, smells, sounds, tastes, and feelings invoked when we step outside our comfort zone. The opportunity for adventure is everywhere, filled with fun, challenge, and the ability to learn more about ourselves and our world!

Experiences that broaden our understanding of the environment and our place in it, those that challenge us to learn and grow, and that deepen our connection with and compassion for the diversity of life on Earth are fundamental to the production of happiness and a life well lived. My own journey has taken me from a research career in nutrition and human evolution with a side interest in endurance sport, to include a personal and professional exploration of how we adapt short and long term to significant environmental stress. What are the limits of human endurance? In my experience, our ability to endure is not limitless, but we’re stronger than most believe, and the grey area between possible and impossible is fascinatingly complex!
